Research project at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya and the Barcelona Supercomputing Center on adaptive, application-dependent, runtime-guided reconfiguration of the IBM POWER7 hardware prefetcher. The runtime characterizes the application's workload and dynamically tunes the prefetcher engine, improving performance and energy consumption over fixed configurations. The mechanisms were deployed on OmpSs, a task-based programming model.
